Bellmore-Merrick Roller Hockey RInk

Bellmore-Merrick Roller Hockey (BMRH) is a non-profit roller hockey league located in Bellmore, NY made up entirely of community volunteers. Now in its 34th year, the league has served close to 10,000 players while providing a safe and friendly place for boys and girls to learn, excel, and come to love the game of roller hockey.

Problem

The league’s wood dasher system was in rough shape. Many of the boards were rotting due to harsh outdoor elements. The concrete perimeter was failing and panels were shifting and bowing as a result. While BMRH had a budget, they also understood – after talking with Becker Arena Products – an investment in the right product would save on maintenance and ensures the integrity of the rink.

Solution

BMRH replaced the concrete perimeter to a solid foundation that will keep the new dasher board panels from shifting and bowing. Our BAP 6.0 Outdoor boards were manufactured with a galvanized steel frame, UV stabilized high-density polyethylene caprail and fiberglass facing and kickplate that can take the abuse of the outdoor elements. We worked with BMRH to make sure the dasher boards lined up perfectly with the new asphalt playing surface. Bellmore-Merrick Roller Hockey now has a great rink that they will enjoy for years to come!
